In addition to fishing there are many other enjoyable Key West activities one can check out while on vacation in
Key West. On the water there is diving, snorkeling, sunset cruises, jet ski tours, eco tours, dolphin tours and host of other activities which revolve around drinking alcohol on a boat.
The main tourist area of Key West would be Duval Street which is where a large concentration of Key West Restaurants and bars are located.
Duval Street runs north south with the north end at Mallory square where the cruise ships dock, the other end ends at south Beach and a small pier.
For day trip you can take the Yankee freedom to the Dry Tortugas and check out Fort Jefferson. This is a whole day trip though so don’t plan on doing
anything else that day.

OK, I'm a Key West addict. Really! I've come to Key West a lot in the past several years, because I just can't get enough. My friends think I'm crazy because with all the money
I've spent traveling here, I could have seen so many other places in the world, or at least bought a whole lot of Jimmy Choos. But I am a water girl, through and through. Ever since I
was a wee tot, I've either lived near a lake, river, or an ocean. The one time I lived in the desert, I swam almost every day an olympic-sized pool so that counts too.
Vacationing in Key West is my version of paradise, my escape. I first did a lot of fishing when I came here. Then I noticed that it was pretty cool actually getting in the water and
seeing what's there. Floating in the salt water is incredibly easy, and with a snorkel you can just float for hours looking down at a whole new world.
Key West snorkeling offers me the most blissful way to spend an afternoon I know of. There's nothing else that gives
me such a sense of discovery, peace, and excitement all at the same time. It's a whole different world, with different rules when you're snorkeling. First of all, it's silent.
It's actually called the Silent World by a lot of scuba divers, but snorkeling is pretty silent, too. Second, you're a guest in a world of marine life that lives in an ecosystem so different
from what there is on land. You see the predators, the heirarchy of power in the world of fish, every day. It's wild!
When you experience
Key West snorkeling, you will know what I mean. You'll see things you've never ever ever seen before. A
sting ray. An moray eel. A nurse shark. A barracuda. Schools of blue tang. Maybe even a lobster, if you look under the coral or any ledge you come across. If you
go snorkeling in 15 feet of water or less, you can even get some great pictures. The picture here I took while on vacation in Key West. I took it in about 20 feet of water, diving
down.
